Auditions Requirements

To successfully audition for 'GREASE', you must attend
a singing audition, and
a movement audition

Singing audition.

You need to prepare sections from 2 contrasting songs, like a pop song and a ballad. You cannot sing any songs from 'Grease' but one that is in the style of the show is recommended. Do not learn the whole song, just the section that highlights your voice. You will not be allowed to sing the entire song due to time restraints so start at an appropriate place in the song.

Important: You must provide sheet music in the key that you want to sing in for the pianist to accompany you. Strictly no transposing! CDs and backing tapes are not allowed.

At the end of your singing audition, you may be asked to read from the script using an appropriate accent.

NB. Please prepare a one page resume. Include your name, any formal training (singing, instrumental, dancing, acting) and details of any relevant experience. ie choirs, concerts, bands, plays, musicals, rhythmic gymnastics etc.

Movement Audition

All auditionees must attend the movement auditions to be held on: Sunday 5th February 6.00pm.

Please wear comfortable footwear and clothing to the movement audition. No jeans.

Callbacks

Callbacks for final casting will be held on Sunday 5th February following the Movement Audition, if required.
